The School
The Old School was built in 1876 to replace the use of the Chapel as the village school, built as a result of a visit by John Wesley in 1748. The school stands at the top of the main street, near the Friary, and can be seen on entering the village.
It is a perfect venue for arts activities, having large internal spaces and good light. There is a large, warm studio painted in lively colours, perfect for working in, particularly when the weather is inclement. There is also a sitting room, which is very restful, and a perfect room for informal discussions, reading art books and magazines or watching an art video.
