Alnmouth is situated on the North Northumberland Coast, Designated as an Area of Outstanding Beauty. It is an unspoilt, attractive village 35 miles north of the city of Newcastle upon Tyne and five miles from the main A1 trunk road. The London to Edinburgh main railway line is 1 mile from the village and trains regularly stop at Alnmouth station, where students can be collected.

Alnmouth was once a thriving port shipping out wool and grain and a popular place for Smugglers.
